Team Wendy Exfil Helmet System

Team Wendy was founded in 1997 by Cleveland-based entrepreneur Dan T. Moore as a memorial to his daughter Wendy, who passed away from a traumatic brain injury (TBI) following a snow-skiing accident. Since the company’s founding, Team Wendy has been largely focused on developing leading-edge products that serve to protect against serious and potentially life-threatening impact related injuries. Most notably, through its long-standing partnership with the U.S. Military and the National Industries for the Blind (NIB), Team Wendy has supplied our men and women in uniform with more than 5 million Zorbium® Action Pad (ZAP™) helmet pad systems since 2005. In 2012, the company launched the EXFIL® helmet platform, marking Team Wendy’s return to the production of complete helmet systems.

Team Wendy also actively collaborates with world-class universities and organizations to better understand the causes behind TBI and to develop products that focus on addressing what actually occurs during impact. Leveraging our success protecting soldiers, our research and development initiatives continue to grow in numerous and important areas such as youth sports, where adequate protection continues to be lacking.

Team Wendy products are manufactured in Cleveland, Ohio. Our state-of-the-art testing, engineering and chemistry labs, as well as our 62,000-square-foot manufacturing facility, allow us constant, hands-on access to our products and materials. We employ a diverse staff of highly trained professionals who are all vital to our day-to-day operations. The company is certified to ISO-9001 with design (certificate 08.192.1).

At Team Wendy, We Innovate to Protect.

Wendy and DanWho is Wendy?  It’s a question we get all of the time. Wendy, the daughter of Cleveland-based entrepreneur Dan T. Moore, passed away from a traumatic brain injury (TBI) following a snow-skiing accident in 1997. Mr. Moore founded Team Wendy as a memorial to his daughter – a passionate, energetic woman who loved life and all it had to offer. His goal, and Team Wendy’s primary mission, is to provide the best protection available on the market today and to research the causes and prevention of TBI.  A story of triumph out of tragedy, Wendy’s name lives on today in the protective products and gear used by thousands worldwide, including the men and women of the United States Military.

At Team Wendy, our goal is to produce innovative, protective products that make a difference.

While best known for providing the standard issue helmet pads for the U.S. Army and Marine Corps, our product offerings continue to expand beyond our line of helmet suspension systems to include items like tactical helmets, athletic equipment, and an ever-growing array of custom applications.

As of May 2014, Team Wendy has been certified to the ISO 9001:2008 with Design standard. We are delighted to serve our customers even better through the well-defined and documented procedures this certification requires. While we’ve always been committed to quality in our products and services, this certification ensures a more productive environment through faster identification and resolution of quality issues, among many other benefits.

We worked with Smithers Quality Assessments, www.smithersregistrar.com, an accredited quality and environmental management systems certification body, to achieve our certification.
